[ festivities or not, it wasn't unusual to see vane in a chipper mood. he's already dressed as santa, and while he's handed out most if not all the presents for the kids, he has yet to discard the entire costume (or bit) yet. so when he sees a familiar face, he easily lifts his hand up in an enthusiastic wave. no thoughts, just vibes.
his voice is relatively loud as he flags her down, a cheerful: ] Merry Christmas! [ as he closes some of the distance between then. albeit, this was the first step to his future mishap, as he unknowingly slips right under the mistletoe. but, still entirely blind to its influence, he continues speaking with just as much excitement as before. ]
I was afraid I wouldn't run into you in time. Santa Vane still has a present for you too!
[ Navia is unfamiliar with the holiday, but she's always been amenable to experiencing it. She's learned most of the things you need to know for Christmas, which is why she's prepared a gift for Vane in kind – and there's a bright smile on her face as she watches him handing out gifts to all the children. He's a kind soul. The kids look really happy, and that, in turn, makes her happy, too.
It's why she looks so chipper when he waves her over, and she, too, does not notice the mistletoe hanging right above them. ]
Hello, Santa Vane! Merry Christmas to you, too. Allow me to start off our gift exchange?
[ She holds out a box towards him, one that's been neatly, seamlessly wrapped. ]
[ there's something genuinely heartwarming about sharing a moment like this. it almost makes vane feel a bit emotional (in a good way) and so he really can't help but get a bit carried away as he even tries to mimic a bit of "ho ho ho" before he reaches into his sack. when he's ready with her present, he's also... a bit surprised she had one for him too.
it may have been told to her as a tradition for the holidays, but for her to actually participate is another matter entirely. his surprise is all too palpable, as with every motion that flits across his features. he's a bit sheepish when he takes her gift and returns it with his own. his gift is also very neatly wrapped with a nice gold and black bow on top. ]
I-is this really for me? Today might be the best day of my life. ... ah, that wasn't very Santa-like, huh? [ he seems to laugh it off well enough though. ]
[ an attempt was made. it's not february yet, and valentine's is some ways off, but listen: every day is valentine's day with navia. or something. she's doing her best. ]
